As someone who is…absolutely terrified of food poisoning, I just wanted to link to a more balanced article that explains what’s been impacted in light of the partial shutdown vs what goes on in the FDA anyway.
Basic gist is…there have never been enough inspections and people have been advocating for them long before all of this and will hopefully continue to do so with more fervor. While this strain on the system isn’t GOOD it’s not a sudden crisis where one has to suddenly rethink all that they eat…but rather to continue to keep in mind the precautions one should always keep in mind to try to avoid food poisoning.
I MEAN THAT’S NOT COMFORTING but I think it does provide a lot more insight into the situation than just…panic.
